False Prophets Rising

“See that you do not cause anyone to err. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ, and will mislead many. And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened, for it must happen, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom . . . And at that time many will fall away and will deliver up one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise, and mislead many. And because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel shall be preached in the whole world for a witness to the nations, and then the end shall come.” (Matt. 24: 4-7,10-14, emphasis added)

 . . . obtaining the end of your faith, the salvation of your souls. Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace for you enquired and searched diligently, searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as it testified beforehand the sufferings for Christ and the glories after these. To whom it was revealed that they were not ministering to themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by Spirit Holy sent from heaven — things into which angels long to look. (1 Pet 1:9-12, emphasis added)

And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, “Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit [pneuma] of prophecy. (Rev. 19:10, emphasis added)

 In our world today it is estimated that some 2.2 billion people claim Christianity as their religion. That is nearly a third of the world’s population, and an amazing number. It is more than a few. And yet, the proclaimed head of this body of believers made a powerful statement at the end of one of his parables about the wedding feast to come. Jesus said, “Many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matt 22:14) What does that mean for the 2.2 billion believers who profess to be Christian and therefore are saved? They certainly are many, and so perhaps they have heard a call to the wedding feast. But are they chosen? Can they be admitted to the marriage of the Lamb?

Numbers tend to fool people. Kierkegaard once wrote, “People try to persuade us that the objections against Christianity spring from doubt. That is a complete misunderstanding. The objections against Christianity spring from insubordination, the dislike of obedience, rebellion against all authority. As a result, people have hitherto been beating the air in their struggle against objections, because they have fought intellectually with doubt instead of fighting morally with rebellion.”

Yet we see the rebellion is ubiquitous in the world, whether in the church or out of the church is does not matter. The words of Jesus from Matthew’s gospel quoted above remind us of the increase in lawlessness, a mystery which Paul saw at work already in the 1st century church. Rebellion is the central dilemma of humanity and often found itself at the center of the prophetic message. Prophets of the Most High without exception spoke to the rebellion of Israel.

In a fractal examination of prophecy let us look at Isaiah, the prophet’s prophet, and the most poetically elegant of all prophets since the time of David. His first chapter is actually a small image of all prophetic speech, something which he addresses to both men and angels and in which he places the kernel of the problem as God Himself has characterized it.

Listen O heavens, and hear O earth;

For the Lord speaks,

Sons I have reared and brought up,

But they have revolted against me. (Isaiah 1:2)

The creation of the physical heavens and physical earth is a consequence of this rebellion. The face of the deep is covered with this darkness [hoshekh] which is symbolically a combat, a violent opposition. But the word hoshekh in its hieroglyphic significance is really “the compressive force which prevails and which enchains the inner ardor forced to devour itself.” (Fabre D’Olivet, The Hebraic Tongue Restored)

Darkness is the shadow in which we live, it is the valley through which we walk, and it is a shadow of death which as a force moves us surely and inexorably to our termination. It is our just desserts, “For the wages of sin is death” (Rom 6:23). Ultimately, we are born to rebellion, it is the nature of the flesh, and it is the nature which God wove into the universe to demonstrate the mystery of iniquity, to show to angels (who desire to peer in) and to men just what the outcome of this lawlessness must be. It is a must, it is a necessity, because it can turn out no other way. For this reason God and Christ have determined to allow the adversary’s demonstration to continue to its fullness, that it might be shown to be the spectacle that it is. But . . . thanks be to God for the free gift of eternal Life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Into this darkness of opposition, this realm of self-ruling will, rebellion, anarchy, and opposition, namely all that is embodied symbolically and hieroglyphically in the name “Nimerod,” breaks the voice of the Logos. He speaks through His prophets to call His people back to God. He speaks of His coming, and He calls for repentance, a return to the ancient pathways (Jer 6:16), the pathways of righteousness which God had ordained from time before time.

The prophets do not speak from their own voice, their own perspectives, their own speculative concerns and superficial predictions. And they are never wrong. They speak to spiritual realities and change that will come, reality of Christ, His coming, the sufferings He would endure as would His faithful, and finally the glories to follow. Prophets never glorified the darkness, the host of heaven, the plans of the adversary, or anything beside the Lord Most High. In fact, they consistently disclosed God’s secret counsel for the dissolution of all illusion and delusion of men, the abasement of all the loftiness of Man and Angel, the removal of all iniquity and rebellion in the face of the establishment of the everlasting kingdom of His Anointed One, His Beloved.

Perhaps that is why John, the bond-servant of Jesus Christ ended his vision of the end times and the coming of the new heavens and the new earth with a stern warning.

I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God shall add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book. (Revelation 22:18-19)

So, in a world with so many called, and where if we really believe the Lord, few will actually be chosen, what ought the Christian believe regarding the prophetic stage of today, largely seen globally on the internet? There are so many claiming to be prophets and claiming to be teachers, that they have been called by the Lord to do this or that work, or proclaim this or that message. But have they been chosen? That is the key question.

And we have abundant guidelines in both the old testament and the new testament as to whether they are prophets or not. Let’s look at the example of the whole “messianic” cabal which spoke of 2012 prophecies, and then again of the blood moons of 2014 and 2015, leading to a jubilee year. Did the catastrophic things they predicted come to pass, ushering in the coming of the Messiah? No they did not.

Does this make them false prophets? Yes it does! It could actually be worse than you want to think. They may be preparing the way for the adversary to come and establish his throne in the earth. But more on that later.

In terms or the many guidelines God’s people are given is the focus of the message, and the heading quotes at the top of this post are a good start.

Does the “prophecy” focus on the glory of Christ, His coming, the victory, and His ensuing kingdom of Righteousness? Or does the message dwell on what the adversary is doing, instilling fear in little lambs who are led astray? Psalm 33 reminds us

The Lord [YHWH] nullifies the counsel of the nations;

He frustrates the plans of the peoples.

The counsel of the Lord [YHWH] stands forever,

The plans of His heart from generation to generation. (Ps 33:10-11)

If this testimony of David is true, and it is, then why would anyone proclaim the plans of the peoples as something which will be accomplished? Many will rest in the dust as the Lord continues resolutely to complete His own plans which are to bring down Babylon from the heavens and the cities of the world under her power to lie in the dust; to rest and to rise no more.

How can we tell which of these endless science fiction story spinners are correct and which are not? Well first, it would help if people had discernment. Lacking that, it is the grace of God that He has given some as teachers (cf. Eph 4:11) and pastors to help the Lord’s lost sheep not be devoured by wolves. Already sheep are being slaughtered daily by the fat sheep in the pulpits, but on top of that the devil’s ministers keep transforming themselves into angels of light, and keep leading people away from getting to know God and coming to a true understanding of His plans, and diverting them into studying the plans of the Rothschilds, the Vatican and the Pope, and Ray Kurzweil and the transhumanism movement.

If people knew as much about God and His plans as they have learned from these false teachers about the Nephilim, Rome, and transhumanism, they would stand a better chance of being chosen and not simply called. Remember the parable: you will not enter the wedding banquet if you are not dressed, and you will not enter if your lamp is not full of oil. So how can you dress yourself in the raiment of the Lord if you are busy trying to learn about the adversary? All of that will pass, and you will have stored up your mental treasure on earth and it will have rotted through.

But let’s return to Revelation and see what John is saying at the end that might just help you, as Christian, as disciple, to discern a quicker way to rule out false teachings from your life. Apocalypsis, or Revelation is “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants the things which must shortly take place; and He sent and communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John, who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, [even] to all that he saw. (Rev 1:1-2)

If Revelation is all that John saw, and he recorded it faithfully, and it shows what must come to pass, then what are these wannabe prophets and teachers talking about when they venture far afield from the material in the vision? There is a problem adding to scripture. God alone can add, and that includes adding understanding to what is already written. We cannot simply interpret scripture from our own understanding, but by the Holy Spirit alone can scripture be endowed with meaning which God intended.

Here is an example, which will help to weed out the stray interpretations that spring from the inventiveness of men. In Matthew 24: 37-39, Jesus says

“For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, they were marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so shall the coming of the Son of Man be.”

There is a burgeoning cottage industry to sell books on the Nephilim, the giants, etc. to make money off of Jesus’ words by adding to what He said, and that puts them in the danger zone with John’s warning mentioned above. What is the central idea of Jesus’ message here? It is about the obliviousness of the greater populous, they are unaware as to what is coming and it will take them away just as in Noah’s day. In fact, very little is done with this using the Key of David to explain the physical, or left-handed chiral image of the right-handed spiritual reality that is the core of this point. We could go into Christ as the true Ark, and what it means to enter in. We could discuss that Noah entered in on the 10th day of the second month which is the day sheep are penned for the second passover, meaning that Christ can deliver the righteous who keep His Passover, while sweeping away the lives of firstborn who did not believe Him. All firstborns belong to Him, so who can question what He will do?

We could discuss the obvious point that the atmosphere is not one of depression, global economic collapse, famine, or nuclear devastation, to name a few of the things which many false prophets proclaim about the beginning of Christ’s return. No. What the reader beholds is a time where people are carrying on with normal, everyday life, church’s are performing weddings, there are church barbecues and socials, and there is drinking and social entertainment as usual. Nothing out of the ordinary, and therefore no one is expecting Christ’s return. It could be this coming May for all we know, since the last 5-10 years of predictions of global collapse have failed to materialize.

Yet, what do the sheep say about these proven failures? Do they declare them false prophets? No. They continue listening and following and spending money in their on line stores, preparing themselves physically to survive a time and save their lives, when they are supposed to be learning how to serve their neighbor and losing their life in service to their Lord. Do we have a problem? Houston: we do!

Where is there a word about Nephilim? A word about giants? And by the way, it is a very bad translation of the Hebrew, it is the damage of Hellenization that has rendered a word with symbolic meaning of renowned and noble illustrious ones, the elect among men, and turning it into “giants.” Yes, they are ‘giants’ among men. But the materialization of the word is sadly the fate of the entirety of scripture, and so what God has said is lost. Today these same types of voices are materializing a spiritual battle, not realizing they have lost, and that the natures that succeeded from Nimrod have already invaded their hearts, and they are devoted citizens of Babylon.

These shepherds that feed themselves without fear also leave the flock abandoned to the wolves, not telling them their ark is in Christ, and that by keeping His word, they would abide in Him and find refuge. They have added to the words of Christ and to what John saw. Search the book of Revelation and you will not find this reality breaking in, and you will not find the transhuman movement creating a stronger and more intelligent human and making a final attempt on God’s throne. Tom Horn is absolutely wrong, because He does not know that God is in control. He may say that God is in control, but one huge thing escapes his notice: Babylon is a cup in the hand of the Lord and it is His tool, not just to discipline His people, but also to demonstrate the failure of the adversary’s ideas, which are corrupt and evil.

The multitude of false prophets do NOT possess the key of David, and they do not understand the creation of this universe, and very likely not understanding that it was Christ Jesus as Logos who created the physical heavens and the earth; that He and the unknown God formed the heavens and the host. They do not know why the world looks the way it does, and why God consigned humanity to disobedience (Rom 11:32) that He might have mercy on all.

While they dance precipitously close to the lake of fire by adding to the words of revelation, we see that John has provided another strong point to guide the disciple in discipline and discernment regarding giving too much weight to voices who are in reality part of the rebellion — and they are truly that, for they articulate the adversary’s loves which are self-ruling will, lawlessness, commerce, and in so doing they form a fractal of the adversary himself, not a fractal of Christ. They create anarchy by not teaching people to walk in the ways of Jesus, but to fear what the adversary is about, and to pay attention to that. Oh, I know all the disclaimers they make that they are not promulgating fear, just informing people so they are prepared. And that’s pure hogwash!

Jesus talks about preparation for him in the verses of Matthew 24 just following the verses cited above. Preparation is in staying awake for Him and being found feeding the members of His household at “the appointed times,” in other words, keeping the Lord’s holy Sabbaths and feasts. That is preparation and sanctification and that amounts to entering into the ark. Indeed, isn’t Jesus seen in Revelation as the ark of the covenant?

So then, of what use will all of this speculative science fiction do for people except to have them live in anxiety, when they ought to live in faith? Where there is fear, the Spirit of God is driven out.

But getting back to John’s clear help in knowing who the prophets are, how many prophets do we see in the book of Revelation? There are only two. And then there is one known as “the false prophet.” But as for the prophetic work of God in the book of Revelation, it is focused through two prophets who are “the two olive trees,” (see the posting entitled The Days of Elijah).

The whole world is watching for 42 months, and celebrating when they are killed by the beast rising out of the Abyss. They are the bane of the church and the world, and they bear witness to Jesus Christ. They are not called to talk about the Nephilim, but to turn hearts of fathers to sons and sons to fathers. Their mission is not to discuss the plans of the adversary but the course of the righteous and to publish as well the endtime gospel: All who endure to the end will be saved.

The fundamental error which the many make, who are not chosen as prophets but claim to be prophets, is that they do not even realize Revelation is about God’s victory and the establishment of the kingdom. Under the surface they think it is a battle rather than a demonstration. They think God reacts rather than is the governor. Some say the book is about Satan’s work in the last days, rather than an account of the demise of his kingdom and the handing over to Christ. That is what ties it to the prophets of Israel, viz. it speaks of the coming of Christ and the glories to follow. In this regard, Revelation ties together in one amazing tapestry the fundamental elements of the secret counsel of the Lord as revealed to Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Zechariah, Zephaniah, Joel, Hosea, Haggai, and all the rest for that matter, to which we really must add Moses and David. It is written and so shall it come to pass.

So, the wisest course for the Christian who would be a real disciple, is to hearken to the Lord’s voice and avoid the traditions of men. As all the congregation of God needs teachers, then be sure to listen to teachers that are not called but are actually chosen; teachers that do not have some kind of feeling for what the Lord has them to do, but who by their lives prove that Christ lives in them.

If Christ does not live in them, why listen? What do they have to teach? If they do not keep His word, and do not give Him all the glory, do not follow what He asks us to do, then who do they serve? Read John’s first epistle it will answer that quite directly. Test the spirits. In their glorification of the opposition, they prove that they do not know the Lord, for if they did, they would realize it is already won. We do not reform this world, we do not pray for it, and we do not obsess with the plans of the darkness.

We shine the light of the face of Christ and in so doing we exhibit the Light of the world. By walking in His ways we glorify His name, and by keeping His appointed times, we do not profane His name.

And now we come full circle to the scriptures at the head of this post. The testimony to Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. It is not the testimony to the giants, or the plans of the Illuminati. That is not the spirit of prophecy. If it does not glorify the Lord it is not of the Lord. Talk about fleshly matters fails to show belief in Him who told us to desire nothing of the world and not to be concerned with matters of the world, and that includes giants, and that includes any fallacious threats from transhumanists. It will NOT come to pass. The second Passover will terminate those plans of the rebellion, as will the seals and the trumpets and the bowls of wrath. It will break Babylon and leave her in the dust. Where will transhumanism be then?

Now remember it is not a qualification for pastor or teacher or prophet to merely say that Jesus is the Christ. He already reminded disciples that all sorts would say that. It means nothing. How they walk does.

To conclude this brief guide to recognizing false prophets and teachers, let’s use the shadow and type of the chiral biblical imagery to deal with the question of giants. When Israel was to enter the promised land, symbol of the Lord’s rest, the kingdom of Heaven, 12 spies entered into the land for 40 days on reconnaissance to examine the prospects of the Lord’s command to enter that land. When they came out, 10 of the spies complained of giants, with only Joshua and Caleb trusting the Lord and affirming that the Lord will conquer. It is almost like they were saying it’s no big thing, with the Lord on our side how can we fail?

But the people would not go in, and so over the course of the next 40 years, one year for each day the spies were in Canaan, they wandered in the wilderness and they perished there. The Lord would not let them enter His rest (cf. Ps 95).

And what are these spymasters of today saying? Hey, listen to us, it’s gonna be tough, you gotta get ready, the giants are here in the land and they are going to wreak havoc on us just like the days of Noah. We don’t want to enter in; we don’t want to keep the Passover as the Lord asked; we don’t want to keep the Sabbath as the Lord asked; we want to keep the next day, Sunday. Lo, the mighty prophets of the web crying about the giants keeping them from entering the promised land of the kingdom of our Lord. The more things change the more they stay the same.

What is there to say for them? They will perish in the wilderness of the Affliction, most likely spiritually, because they didn’t love the truth, and the Lord will cause a spirit of delusion to come over them and they will fall into the spell of the sorcery [pharmakeia] of the man of lawlessness as Paul explained to the Thessalonians. So do not perish along with them.

See to it that you at least believe the Lord as reported in Matthew’s gospel, “See that do not mislead any.” [Lit. “cause any to err”] Yes, that is correct, the translators have mostly gotten it wrong. The Greek does not say “do not be mislead,” but rather “Do not mislead any.” This is a commandment and it is serious. Do not pass around teachings if the teachers are going beyond the parameters laid out by Jesus and the apostles and prophets.

An apostle is literally ‘a sent one.’ If the person has not seen Jesus Christ as the apostle Paul, then how can he claim he is sent as Paul did? If he teaches, but cannot discern the voice of Christ and what He teaches vs. what the adversary teaches, do not pass along his teachings because then you will participate in his sin, and you will violate the Lord’s commandment not to mislead any, or cause them to err.

This is serious business, and the church has lost its spiritual compass. The harvest is great and the workers are few, certainly not as many as one can see on the web. In fact if there are more than a handful that have Christ’s blessing, seal, and anointing, it would be a surprise.

What is the alternative? Learn how to read the prophets, for through them God has disclosed his secret counsel (Amos 3:7). There are currently no prophets of an exalted nature like Moses, David, Isaiah, and Daniel. Learn to read them. We will have two of that caliber and we will know who they are. They will be called and chosen. They will have a very powerful anointing, with their enemies dying for just seeking to do them harm. They will stop up the heavens and they will scourge the church, for so she deserves. That will be true prophecy in action, true prophets of Elohim, the Father and Son who while they are two in number are one in Spirit and action.

Jesus words have already come to pass thousands of times since he uttered them: “Many false prophets will arise.” There were false prophets and teachers in the first century church. About 500-600 years later there was Mohammed. There was Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, and the entire prophetic lineage of the Mormon Church. There was Ellen G. White. And there have been many, many more, too numerous to mention.

Make no mistake about it: all of them do the work of the adversary. So exercise wisdom and protect your soul and that of others, by steering clear of these messengers of deception. This writer has decades of experience with these deceivers and has been schooled in discernment. The Lord has granted me that gift of discernment so I can help others. It is a gift, so it is not something that can be taught, although scripture can be taught and that can serve the needed purpose of rightly dividing the word of truth. So out of love for Christ, trust His words and take His commandment seriously not to mislead any, and it will be a blessing for you and others. As for the spider’s web of false prophets, steer clear. There is such a world of infinite depth, “fathomless,” as Paul says, in God’ treasures of knowledge and wisdom, we simply have no time for studying the adversary’s tales and the teachings of demons.

Rather, be at work feeding the little sheep the living words of the Logos, and declaring the good news of the last days that all who endure will be saved. That will be a blessing to you and all around you. Many false prophets will arise and indeed, have already arisen. In the spirit of Elijah, put the teachings of the false prophets to the sword, the truth, the Living Word, who cuts to the marrow. That is the spiritual battle we engage in these days of Elijah.
